It’s not a race it’s a movement!
Join us for a 50km run along the Thames – 7 JUN 2015, crossing the river 23 times during the course of the run. The run starts a Woolwich Foot Tunnel and ends in Richmond following the Thames Path.
Don’t fancy running 50km but want to be part of it. Don’t worry. Meet at one of the designated bridges and join the run party.
42.2km – Greenwich Foot Tunnel
32km – London Bridge
21km – Battersea Bridge
10km – Hammersmith Bridge
5km – Barnes Bridge
*meeting times TBC but will be based on a 10km/h or 6mph running pace.
The run will end with a beer or two and some food at one of Richmond’s riverside pubs.
Join the event here.
This isn’t a race. You join and run at your own risk. It is also unsupported. We’ll refuel at the various pubs/ cafes/ petrol stations along the way but there will be no organised feed stations. The aim is to run as a group from East to West. If you want a medal, a t-shirt and the glory of crossing a finish line, this isn’t that… It is a fantastic opportunity to see a great city, run with friends and have a great time.
All welcome. Pace will be 10kmh/ 6mph. Consider your ability when selecting a distance. This pace will include time spent stopping for water etc, so will in reality be quicker than that.
More specific details will be available nearer the time. All welcome!
